One year down, a bajillion to go!

Today is our one year wedding anniversary - this year has flown! It's hard to believe that a year ago we were celebrating the best day of our lives surrounded by everyone we love most. This has been the best, craziest, most adventurous, love-filled, dog-crazy, amazing year of my life, and I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone other than my remarkable husband :) I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us, hopefully many more traveling adventures!

Our super-handsome groomsmen
Best friends/sisters I could ever ask for
Thomas' parents & grandparents

My parents and grandparents
Me and the hubs
Cutest flower girl and ring bearer ever? Yep, I believe so!
Mr. and Mrs. Starr!
Best/most beautiful flower girl ever.
Quite possibly my favorite picture of the whole day ;)
Dancing!
I love when he busts a move!
We got to keep the top of the wedding cake to eat on our first anniversary, but it didn't make the trip to England :(
Love this guy.

New Years!

We originally planned on spending New Years in Edinburgh, Scotland, but our plans fell through. Luckily we had a pretty awesome back-up plan: London! We picked up our cute new car (I'll post pictures later!) on Friday morning and left for London in the afternoon. We met a couple for dinner, found a pub on the way to fireworks, and then waited for the fireworks show to start. The other guy with us was very friendly, so we made a lot of friends while waiting for the show to start. One British couple was especially talkative, so they shared stories with us about England politics, the Princess Diana conspiracy theories (we didn't even know they existed!), and and how to correctly pronounce the name of the county we live in.

Then the fireworks started. And they were AMAZING. I'm not just saying that because fireworks are one of my favorite things. Even Thomas was amazed - he forgot to kiss me at midnight because he was gaping at them! I don't know how to take good picture of fireworks, but I'll share some others from New Years.

Pretty Christmas lights
The Disney Store in London!
The London Eye in the background - we don't know those people :)
Waiting for fireworks to start
The Tube was PACKED after midnight!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years!

Resolution

Usually I don't do New Years resolutions. Well I make a resolution, but I don't usually keep it. But I figure by putting it on here for everyone to see, I will be more motivated to actually achieve this one. Plus, my awesome hubby is going to do this with me, and he has far more willpower than I do, so I bet we will actually do it.  We are going to run a 10K!

The race route

We have plenty of inspiration - my sister Jamie and father-in-law Chet just ran the 1/2 marathon in Las Vegas, and my cousins Jill and Jenna are both marathon finishers. I'm just going to start with a 10K, and if I'm lucky I'll get to their levels one day. To further motivate us, we found a 10K in London on July 10th that we want to do. The route goes by all the tourist sites in London like Buckingham Palace, Parliament, the London Towers, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, etc. That'll be some good eye candy to keep us running (hopefully!). Wish us luck, I know I'm going to need it! :)

Happy New Year!
